Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember, I have been swimming. Since the first day I joined my country club's swim team in 2004, I have dedicated myself entirely to the sport of swimming. I began my swimming career as a breaststroker, breaking my summer swim league's records in the 25 yard breaststroke at ten years old. These successful summer swims lead me to commit myself to my club team Long Island Express. As a hardworking individual in and out of the pool, I hope to continue swimming competitively in college.
During my seven years at Long Island Express, I have practiced daily and competed throughout the years. I attend practice every day and lead the women's lane during every workout. I have competed at the Senior Metropolitan Championships, Eastern Zone Championships, and Sectional Championships. My experience on this team has showed me the value of supportive teammates and coaches.
Having competed for the past five years on my high school's varsity team, I have learned the importance of teamwork and dedication to my sport from my fellow teammates. I have learned to balance my academics, club swimming, and varsity season while improving my swim times year after year.
On the collegiate level, I hope to continue my dedication to swimming and improve my personal best times. I look forward to creating new friendships with my collegiate teammates and gaining a new "swim family."
