Personal Statement
Over ten years of competitive swimming has no doubt shaped the person that I am today. Although throughout this time, I have never stopped loving swimming, I realized how special it was to me when my high school team won State my freshman year. Even though I was not able to compete at the meet, cheering them on made me want to work even harder so that eventually I would be the one that my team would cheer on. That dream came true my junior year when I was given a spot on the 400 freestyle relay.
The act of balancing swim practice with schoolwork is not an easy task, and took years to master. My hard work is shown in my NHS membership and 4.0 GPA, and I am committed to continue to excel in academics. As my swimming career advances I will continue to work as hard as I can so that I will continue to improve in the sport that I love so much.
