I want to be great and to be able to achieve goals I never thought I could. I want to make junior nationals or even nationals in swimming and to get amazing grades to get me into a career that will last a lifetime. I will work hard at anything I do as well as doing everything to the best of my ability. I love to have fun and to be outgoing as well as trying new things. I try to always be the person teammates and classmates can come to when they need someone. I will put my best foot forward in college and will continue as I finish up high school. Being a competitive swimmer has taught me how to be strong and that life will be hard, but to overcome those challenges you need to deal with them as they come to you. Working hard and being the very best you can be is the most important part of both school and athletics. I have been on a high school team now for almost three years and I have been able to really experience a team relationship where people depend on you to win. It is scary when pressure is on you, but also a great feeling knowing that you have everyone cheering you on. I have won the 500 free at states twice now, and I would never have been able to do that without the support of family, friends, and coaches along the way. Being able to be in this type of team environment, I am willing to help others and to learn from my teammates and coaches throughout the process. I have had bad swims, everyone has them, but by learning from them I was able to make myself a better person and swimmer for the future.
