Growing up in a ski resort community most would think swimming to be an unusual choice. However, there are many triathletes who live and train in Park City, Utah and my dad was one of those athletes. As long as I could remember I was by his side every chance I could, especially at the pool. From swim lessons to junior triathlons to open water events during our summer vacations my love for the water and swimming grew. I knew then that swimming was always going to be a part of my life.
As a member of the Park City Swim Team, Spring Swim Team and The Woodlands Christian Academy Team, I have developed a strong work ethic, a determined and positive attitude, and great communication skills with my coaches and teammates. I realize there is a lot to learn and I am willing to use my swimming experiences and my coaches’ feedback as ways to improve and meet my goals. My favorite role as a swim team member is being a supportive and enthusiastic teammate. I believe team unity and positive energy is important for success.
These life-long skills have also helped me outside of the pool where academics are a priority. I am a student at The Woodlands Christian academy where I continue to challenge myself with college preparatory classes. During my free time I enjoy participating in many different clubs and activities at school and love volunteering throughout the community.
My goal is to attend a college that helps me reach my goals and potential as an athlete and student. I look forward to the opportunity to use my accomplishments, experiences, positive energy, and work ethic to ultimately, become a valuable community member.
