Olivia Hultgren '16 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing tennis since I was 12 years old. I played #4 singles on the girls' junior varsity tennis team my first year at Becker High School in Minnesota and was moved up to play #2 singles on varsity in my 8th grade year. Ever since 9th grade, I have been playing #1 singles on Becker's varsity team, and was elected to be one of the team captains my junior and upcoming senior year. I also play during the summer on a co-ed USTA tennis team with other players from Becker and spend a large amount of time playing outside the season, including participating in Becker's annual summer tennis camps.
Along with my commitment to tennis and the team, I also concentrate my time on working hard to achieve a 3.99 GPA and involving myself in Becker High School's National Honor Society. I volunteer to help teach beginner level tennis courses to young players at the Becker tennis camps during the summer. Aside from tennis, I participate in Robotics and varsity lacrosse. 
Ever since I started playing sports, I began to think about being a collegiate athlete. Keeping myself involved in team-building activities is very important throughout high school and college, which is one of the reasons why I aspire to play collegiate tennis. I have always wanted to play tennis at a competitive level and challenge myself in order to become a better player. As a captain on my high school team, I have learned the attributes to being both a good leader and a good teacher. I believe that these qualities will prove very useful during my college years and after college as well.
