Personal Statement
I have always loved tennis and started playing at age ten. It was a goal of mine to play on the Varsity team as a freshman and I was able accomplish that goal. Our Middleton High School tennis team was deep that year and made it to Team State, our team made it to the semis but fell to Homestead. I played doubles 3 and won All Conference, and All Sectional titles and my record that year was 28-0. As a Sophomore (21-2) we knew going into the season we had a strong team, and won state. That year I played 2 doubles and was an All conference, and All Sectional winner. Our tennis team was not only really talented but also fair, we won the Sportsmanship Award that year. My Junior year (28-1) I played doubles 1 and was an All Conference, All Sectional winner and placed 5th at Individual State, which placed me on Wisconsin"s All-State team. Our team played hard and we won our Section and went onto State but we ended up losing in the Semis to a very deep team, Neenah. My coach awarded me the MVP at our team banquet my Junior year. I'm a senior and still in season (21-1) and just became All Conference 4th year in a row! A new highlight is along with my partner we are Sectional Champs at doubles 1, and again the 4th year in a row I have been a Sectional Champion. My new goal is to get higher on the podium then 5th place at Individual State. I reached my goal! My partner and I won the Individual State Doubles Championship today at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
I think what makes me a little different then a lot of other prospects is that I was able to be very successful tennis player while playing two other Varsity sports and maintaing a high GPA. Once in college, I would be only playing tennis and I will only get better. I have a strong work ethic and like to stay busy. I do have a goal to have at least 1 recruiting star before I play in college. That said, I will have to stop running track in the Spring to accomplish this goal. I will be playing in WIAA Individual State tournament October 15,16, and 17, and I will be playing in two tournaments in November, right before basketball season starts.
