I’ve been running track and field for three years, running for the first time with my twin sister during freshmen. I’ve also been playing tennis since I was seven and played on the Girls Varsity Tennis Team for three years. During my freshman year, I focused on the 200 and 400-meter races and was a part of both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. That season culminated in a CCS Conference 4x100 Championship and a trip to the CA state meet. I had the honor of anchoring our relay squad and was tasked with the responsibility to bring the baton home in first. Although track and field is mostly an individual sport, being a part of the relay teams has truly made me passionate about it. The energy and motivation that it brings me pushes me to work hard to continue this experience in College. I believe that I can potentially excel at it with more specific training that high school track does not offer. One of my main goals for my last season is to PR in the 400m dash and redeem myself since this opportunity has been taken away by the quarantine.
With this track season being canceled, it has brought me great motivation to train hard at home with my sister to run the best of my ability in the future. I’m looking forward to training hard and continuing to grow my track experience at the collegiate level.
