Avery Carey '20 Recruiting Profile

I recently discovered my passion for running in August 2018. Ever since then, I have committed myself to reducing my mile/5k time and building speed this year. As well as participating on my school's varsity track team as a captain this year, I am currently training outside of school to run the Mountains 2 Beach half marathon in May 2019. I hope to run DIII in college and stay with the program for all 4 years. I am a strong leader and I put the team before myself. It is important to me that everyone on the team feels strong, passionate, and capable and I do everything I can to support them. My goal mile time by the cross country season this fall is about 6:00". Currently, my race mile time is 7:10" and my 5k time is 24:30". Thank you for checking out my profile!
