Hi! My name is Karlee Myers, I am a junior at Ontario Christian high school. I recently found the sport of running and have been doing track for 6 months now. I got recruited to the track team at the end of my sophomore year while playing on my high school soccer team. I quickly realized that my passion for running was strong, I would run at home, at soccer practice, and really any opportunity that presented itself. After the soccer season ended, I realized track was the sport I wanted to pursue. I competed in gymnastics for 5 years beginning at the age of 6. Took a few years off then started playing competitive soccer for 4 years preceding my sophomore year. Once I learned how much I enjoyed running I have since concluded that this is the sport for me. I am determined to challenge myself and become the best version of myself on the field and off. I am a hard worker and will push myself and continue to grow in this sport that I am quickly falling in love with.
I currently have a GPA of 3.6 and will continue to try and improve academically every day and am focused on giving myself the best opportunities over my last year of high school.
Our team was league champs for the 2022 season, I was voted Rookie of the Year in our league for the 2022 season. My coach has recently asked me to compete in the 800. I am working to bring my times down in that event as well. On my Club Team I was voted Team Captain. I recently made it to the 2022 JO’s Championships in the 800 my time was 2:36.
