Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
It has long been my desire to be a collegiate student-athlete. I am very dedicated and hard working athletically and academically, and a leader on and off the field. I am accustomed to juggling the rigors of academics and athletics, as I have been a multi-sport athlete for a number of years. As a team captain on every team I have been a part of, I pride myself on my positive and motivating attitude, and of course making things fun! My coaches and teammates will tell you, that I tend to make everyone laugh, which I like to think is a good thing. I strive for high academic achievement in taking AP, Honors, as well as Community College courses, and do volunteer and philanthropy work through my school Associated Student Body and Interact Club activities. It is my ultimate goal to complete college with a degree in a health or biological science, with the intent to further my education and become a physicians assistant; preferably in pediatrics. Having the opportunity to compete in intercollegiate athletics would only further enhance my experience. Track and Field is a passion of mine, and though certain collegiate events are not currently available to me, and I am only permitted so many events per meet, I am confident I can be competitive in other areas. I have a very strong throwing arm, as well as good vertical and horizontal jumping capability; therefore I feel I could be a viable candidate for multi-event disciplines as well.
