Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Yelitza Tavarez. I am 16 years old and currently a Sophomore at Timber Creek High School in Orlando, FL. I have been an athlete all my life. I started with swimming when I was 5 years old, and began running since I was 12 years old. I still hold on to the sport swimming so I can stay in shape for running Track and Cross Country. My main event is the 800 meter run. I never been so dedicated to an event since 8th grade! My teammates, coaches, friends, and family members helped me have self-confidence in myself from the ups and downs from training. I am passionate about Track and like to push it to more competition to improve my skills. I have been on the Track, Cross Country, and Swimming Varsity Team in both my Freshman and Sophomore.
I am very dedicated and a committed team player. I am always pushing more then I have to during practice and always follow the coaches instructions on practices and meet competitions. My team admire my hard work and my outgoing personality with everybody on the team. I see myself as a leader and a valuable candidate for any team. My goals is to run/swim in college and go as far as the Olympics. My hard work not only shows on my PR but also on my academics GPA. My teachers can provide letters to testify of my work and my excellent conduct. In school, I make sure I am on task and getting the information so my grades can improve at all times. My teachers see me as a well-behaved and talented student who always wants to go beyond. I look forward to college as it has always been my dream to move on to the next level for more competition in sports and education.
