Hi, my name is Kourtney Patterson! I come from a small town in southern Idaho, and I have fallen in love with track and field. I participate in Carey high school's varsity track team and have reached many personal goals with the help of great coaches. Freshman year I qualified for state in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.27, and then I placed 11th overall at state with a time of 28.33. I have continued to train hard and have had recent success in the long jump, and 100-meter dash. My personal record (PR) in the 100 is 13.14 and I am currently ranked 8th in the 1A Division Women's 100-meter rankings for Idaho. My new personal record for long jump is 16' 0.75, I recently beat the previous school record of 15'9 in the long jump and set the new school record. I have qualified for the 2021 State Track and Field Championship in three out of four of my events, I will participate in the long jump, 100-meter dash, and the 4by2. I hope to PR in the long jump as well as the 100-meter dash, also our 4by2 team is 0.4 seconds away from beating the school record and we hope to set a new record at state this weekend! I leave for State Track Thursday, the 20th of May! Thanks for reading and I hope you hear from you soon!
