Personal Statement
Dear Coaches,
Beginning in the seventh grade, I knew I loved to run. I wanted to take it somewhere in life. Being a member of my middle school track team I ran many events: from 55 meter hurdles to the 1600. For the two years that I ran track in Middle School I was the division Champion in the 800 in seventh grade and the 1600 in eighth. Last year, as a freshman, I ran varsity cross country in the fall, and in the spring, I was on the varsity track team, I ran the 100 and 300 meter hurdles along with the 1600 meter relay and pole vault. I earned All-Conference honors in the 300 hurdles. I also ran at the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship meet in the 4x100 meter relay. This year, as a sophomore, I ran varsity cross country and recently began officially training for the upcoming track season.
Being an honors student, I not only have to work hard on the track but also in the classroom. I am currently the President of the Warren Mott Class of 2017, this title comes with many responsibilities, all of which I am willing to take on. Being the class president has taught me that along with taking into consideration my own high school experience, I have an opportunity to make it a memorable experience for the Class of 2017. I work hard every day to maintain a high GPA and academic ranking. I have no problem putting in the hours to get my homework done or help a fellow classmate navigate theirs.
I’m extremely excited for my future. I plan to study communications. Hoping to one day be able to sit in studio and share what I have to say to whomever is listening. Along with having my dream career I would love to keep track in my life for as long as physically possible. I do not plan on giving up running or pole vault, track has been a big part of my life and I want to continue participating, I love the competition. I am a hard worker and even though I may not always come out number one, I always give 110% every second of my race or jump. I practice the same way I perform in competition and will push myself beyond my limits for the team. My determination and dedication, along with my leadership skills will make me a great part of any team.
I love what I do, from the classroom to the track, and everything in between.
Thank you,
Kennedy Plieth
