My name is Alex Sedik; I will be a high school senior in the upcoming school year. I am 6'9.25" tall, weigh 195 pounds, and am able to put up 285 pounds on the bench press. My intended major is early elementary school teaching or special education teaching. I had started swimming competitively in my freshman year of high school. During my junior season I was able to place third in the 50 yard free and eighth in the 100 yard free at our county meet and managed to place second in the 50, 100, and 400 yard free relay at our division meet which helped my team to the schools first ever division championship. I was voted team m.v.p and was also named a team caption for my senior season. After completing my sophomore season I realized that I wanted to be more than just a high school athlete and wanted to continue to swim at the college level. I would prefer to go to a school that is medium to larger in size somewhere in the mid-west; however, distance is not an issue. My family does apply for financial aid, but my goal would be able to swim fast enough to earn a scholarship. Once on the team I feel that I will be a valuable attribute to the teams success. Not only are my swimming skills strong, but also my personality, leadership skills, and my ability to be a team player put me a step ahead of many other swimmers. Also my willingness to go where I am needed sets me apart from other swimmers. As a freshman I would like to compete and earn my spot in the main races and be part of the national or travel team. I am a competitive, hard-working, and motivated person. I am always trying to make myself better in anything that I do and will not stop until I have reached my full potential. I am willing to change, adjust, and fix whatever a coach says needs to be.
