My name is Emma Hunt, and I am looking to compete collegiately in distance running. I plan to major in Veterinary Medicine or in the field of Agriculture. I push myself academically and athletically, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and constantly pushing myself to set PRs in my events. I stay busy in school with extracurricular activities. I’m an officer in Future Farmers of America (FFA), participate in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and play high school basketball. My priority and focus are on Cross Country and Track. During my freshman year of High School, I medaled in every meet, including the State Championships. I also broke my school’s long-standing records in the 5K, 3200m and 1600m run. I make goals for myself and hold myself accountable. Academically, I want to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, including college courses. I want to win State in FFA with my contest team. Athletically, I want to break 5 minutes in the mile and 18 minutes in the 5K. I feel this is a healthy balance of goals. Achieving these goals will showcase my drive and dedication and provide the experience I need to be a contributor to a well-respected athletic program at the next level.
