Lillyan O’Bryant '24 Recruiting Profile

I first became interested in throwing when I was taking weight training in school. I didn’t realize my strength until a coach brought it to my attention and suggested that I do throwing for track and field. From then on, I fell in love with the sport. Last year was my first year throwing and I achieved distances that I didn’t think I could! During the season last year I was hit with an obstacle that involved my grades that cut my season short. Since then, I have carried A’s and B’s. It has really built my confidence how my coaches have stuck by my side and have continued to work with me which also allows me to be determined about this season and willing to achieve what I couldn’t last year. Failure isn’t an option for me, academically or within my sport.
