2013-14 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I went into my senior year as a setter and opposite. Due to my teammates injuries, I have been playing all around and as one of two outside hitters. It has helped me grow as a player as I can see the game from completely different viewpoints.
Our team won the Southcentral Region Championship. I was named to the 1st Team All Region. We continued to the State Tournament, coming in 5th place. I was named Player of the Game and our team was given the Academic Award for the Highest combined GPA with a 3.85 average.
Living in rural Alaska, I don't have the luxury of playing club volleyball. I go out to summer camps and have had the fortune of being coached by some of the most talented, including Club V coach, Chris Gorny who came to Alaska and coached us this year. I have learned so much this season...primarily that I have tremendous growth possibilities, a desire to better myself, and the athletic ability to go to the next level. I know I have not reached my potential and am looking forward to seeing how far I can go in a sport that I love.
