As the middle child of five kids, I've learned how to work hard for what I want and need. I understand what it means to work for the greater whole of a family or team; something bigger than just yourself. My passion for sports started as a young child and I was often invited to club teams in softball and volleyball because my coaches recognized me as hardworking and a natural leader even at a young age. Being a part of a large family meant not enough time, money, or resources for me to play club volleyball. Where my peers were getting experience and exposure through travel teams I knew that my edge would have to be my work ethic and ability to be coachable. Because of this, I was chosen as a freshman to play on our Varsity team. At every camp, practice, scrimmage, or game, I've taken every suggestion my coaches and assistant coaches have given me. I thrive on feedback because I know I need to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and improve. If you asked my coaches, teachers, and teammates to describe me I think they would say I'm disciplined; willing to put in any and all effort required. I am a team player and care about the encouragement and success of my teammates. I strive for excellence on and off the court improving my time management skills to balance lofty academic goals as well as my athletics. I've been through adversity in my high school athletic career as well. I left a team I loved at the end of the volleyball season of my sophomore year when my family relocated to Arkansas. Proving myself again on a new team in a new school to a new coach was not easy and challenged me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am ready to challenge and improve my skills at the collegiate level and I would work hard for any coach or team that I'm blessed to be considered for. I aspire to work in the sports medicine field and know that my athletic goals could help me afford to pay for school and I take this opportunity seriously. With these things considered I think I would be a great candidate for your team.
