Personal Statement
To be an athlete one must have a burning desire to be the best they can be while bringing other teammates up to their full potential. Leadership and communication are crucial to volleyball because it is the one sport that requires you to put your teammates needs and abilities before your own. I am a good candidate because I am able to maintain a positive attitude towards my teammates and never let another players bad attitude influence mine. I am constantly helping my teammates strive to meet their full potential by encouraging them and being a positive role model. In my first year of playing volleyball (Sophomore year; Oceanside High School) I went straight onto my high schools Varsity Team. This helped me to develope my game at a much faster pace as well as granting me with the opportunities to help my fellow class mates on JV become ready for the Varsity experience. Another factor an athlete needs to attain, is the ability to balance their athletics and schooling; being ranked number four in my school for academic excellence has granted me with many opportunities to grow in being a leader and connecting with my community. I want to attend a four-year college, with full or partial scholarship, where I can get a major in Biological/Biomedical Engineering so I can create new technologies for the advancement of the health care field. Being an athlete and a scholar go hand in hand, and I am fully committed to my academics as well as my passion to play volleyball.
I am eager to start the recruiting process and receive more information for my academic and athletic future.
*Please note* My family is in the military and we have recently moved from California to Arizona. I will be starting my Senior year at a new school, Gila Ridge High School, and also starting at a new club, Desert Stars, in Yuma, Arizona for my final year.
