Lucyanna Herrera ...Personal Statement
My name is Lucyanna Herrera, but everyone mostly calls me Lucy, and I am a 17 year-old senior 5'5 DS/L for Forza1 VBC and I am currently on the Elite 18-1's team. I play at Murrieta Mesa High School on the Varsity team under Coach Pat Manning. During this past high school season I have played DS, libero, and outside hitter (my old primary position). I made the transition from outside hitter to DS/L my junior year. I also have maintained a 3.8-4.0 GPA all throughout high school and am a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
I am an all around team player who will stop at nothing to reach my team's goal. I strive to be the best I can be and work harder and harder everyday to get to where my squad and I need to be. I am a very coachable and hard working player that will always give it 100% on and off the court in everything I do no matter the difficulty I must overcome to get there.
I think I can bring drive and change to a college level volleyball program. I love energizing my teammates and getting them just as excited as I am about the game. I like to learn from others and take note of how I can be better at all aspects of the game. I never give up on the ball, and the same goes for life. I will stop at nothing until my goals are accomplished.
