Personal Statement

I am Nicole Macalintal and I am a 16 year old athlete from San Jose , California. I have two brothers, who are also athletes, which I believe  instilled in me a competitive drive and desire to be the best. I strive for excellence in everything I do and I don‘t shy away from hard work. Being the only girl in my family has pushed and motivated me to excel in school and athletics, but growing up with brothers also taught me love, support, and loyalty. I believe these qualities allow me to be not only a great player but an even better teammate. I’ve learned to be a leader and was even voted team captain of my club team for my 13s, 14s, and 15s seasons. Not only do I believe I am competitive, hardworking, motivating, and caring teammate and friend, but I am also a coachable and curious student. As a player, I constantly crave and am open to corrections. Similarily , I have a love for learning and have a great curiosity that applies whether I’m learning about  defensive positioning or Darwin’s Law of Evolution.  These qualities developed me to what I, my coaches, my family, and my friends believe I am: a committed athlete, student, and companion. I am committed to my educational success and take immense pride in my grades. I am a committed player who will give my all for my team and sport. Whether it’s doing my job on the court by making defensive plays or helping my team side out  in serve receive with a pass or if it’s cheering my teammates on the sideline, I will give it my all.  My goals and aspirations in college is to play the highest level of volleyball I can. In college, I want to be able to challenge  myself mentally and physically while playing the sport that I fell in love with when I was 10 years old and on top of that earning a college degree.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
