My name is Gwen Arnold. I have grown up in West Hartford, CT. I started playing volleyball three years ago and have loved the sport ever since. When I first started playing, I realized I was very behind when it came to skill and with getting recruited. After my first club season in 8th grade, I became passionate about the sport and started to watch films and found other players that inspired me to become better. I also started to want more from the sport, so in addition to club and high school seasons, I attended camps, clinics, played beach and would play in my backyard everyday in the summer. I believe it’s that dedication and work ethic that made me the teammate I am today. Along with developing my technical skills, I started to develop leadership skills, tactical skills and always push for a good team-oriented environment around me. I have also made sure to put the same effort into my academics and work to stay on top of my grades since entering high school. I play Libero/DS and Outside. My goals and aspirations as a collegiate athlete are to get the best education possible that will lead me into a successful professional career, while still being able to play competitive volleyball. I also hope that playing volleyball in college will provide the opportunity to assist my family and myself with college expenses. I would like to major in Pre-Physical Therapy and believe with the amount of challenging high school courses I'm taking that I will be well prepared to take on balancing both college academics and athletics for my future. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and I hope to hear from you soon.
