Lyric Campbell '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lyric Campbell, I am a 5'8" Libero/DS playing this season with FreeState Volleyball Club. FreeState is a new club started by my coach Rob Pinchak who I played for the past 2 years at Dynamic Volleyball Academy. After my first year of club at age 15 Coach Rob placed me on his 18 select team based off of my work ethic on the court. As a Libero/DS I am inspired by the energy on the court that comes after an amazing dig, an impressive save, and watching the kill after a perfect pass. I am a 6 rotation outside hitter for Delmar High School where I started playing in the 8th grade. I am a Co-Captain for my high school and club team. The experience of being a captain on the court has allowed me to push beyond and utilize my leadership skills to motivate my team, create unity, spread positivity, and focus on continual improvement. I was a competitive gymnast for 9 years and started at the age of 3. Approaching high school, I wanted to try new sports, so I played volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, and basketball, but I fell in love with volleyball. Athletics is my passion as I grew up a "gym rat", spending 5-6 days a week training and traveling for competitions at a young age. I am a Triple-Threat Varsity athlete at my school for volleyball, basketball, and soccer, and was the only female in my class to receive this award for 22/23. I have always valued being pushed hard athletically and while I enjoy playing my other sports, volleyball is my absolute love. I take my education very seriously and have worked hard to balance the demands of school and sports. I am an Honor Roll student with a cumulative GPA of 3.8, and a member of the National Honor Society. Since the age of 14 I have worked as a busser, food runner, and hostess at a local restaurant, where I get to learn a lot of people skills! 

I am looking to play for a college that meets my athletic and academic goals to pursue a career in athletic training. I am super excited about playing volleyball at the college level and truly welcome the challenges of high level training and hope to share my qualities with my future team.
