My collegiate goal is to get accepted into a top university to further my education and prepare me for a doctoral role as a pediatrician. I aspire to be a top volleyball player with a focus in the areas, middle and outside positions. I also aspire to be on a team of light-minded women that have a desire to dedicate themselves to work hard for the success of the team. A team with D1 rankings that will not only compete locally but nationally, who will win championships all around the world.
I am an individual who is coachable and also teachable. I understand the importance of growth through discipline, teamwork, dedication, sacrifice, and hard work. I understand that we are all different, valuable, and unique in the skills, strengths, and weaknesses we bring into the team. I understand that we may not all agree, but I respect the opinions of others and their diverse perspectives, not only on the court and in games but also in life.
I am Makayla! there's no one else like me. I am bold, confident, and unique in who I am. I know I am not the smartest nor the greatest, but with proper training and coaching, I know that I am a valuable asset to any team. I know this may sound strange but when it comes to academics I don't compare or compete with others, I have learned that the one I am competing with is not any other person or a thing but with the person that reflects back into the mirror when I look into it every day. So, I always strive to be the greatest version of me when it comes to academics or anything else in life. Although i love to play the game my academics is what's going to take me beyond the game. Therefore, my academics are just as important to me as playing the game and everything else in life.
