Personal Statement
Coming from a small middle school and being able to make the varsity team as a freshman at Monsignor E. Pace High School in Miami Gardens, is an accomplishment I am very proud of. Living in an area where competitive volleyball is not very popular, my love for the sport and my drive to keep improving is what motivates me to become a better player; it has even pushed me as far as driving an hour north, to and fro, just to be a member of the nearest club volleyball team.
As a student athlete, I have learned that focus, sacrifice, leadership, character, balance, and positivity are key elements crucial both in the classroom and on the court. I take pride in the fact that i am able to balance my 4 to 5 weekdays of practice, be an active officer in school clubs and my community, while still being able to maintain an 'A' average. I am looking forward to continue playing at a college level, while ultimately working towards my goal of becoming a physical therapist. I hope to find a program that not only, meets my academic and athletic needs, but also offers a positive environment that fits my work-ethic.
