Personal Statement
Whether a coach, peer, parent, or adult observing, I am always viewed as a hard-working student athlete. Not only do I strive to be the best on the court, but in the classroom as well. I never settle for being good enough and I am always trying to improve academically and athletically. I serve as a role model to others, and am the leader of the crowd. Being an NHS member, I am recognized as a leader, hard worker and advocate for my community. As a college athlete, I will continue to maintain straight A’s as I have done this past year, graduate with a business degree, and go to graduate school for my MBA. I understand that comes with proper time-management skills, commitment and motivation; however, those are some of my best qualities. I possess dedication, committment, and of course loyalty to my team. It is essential that I lead my team to performing at the best of our abilities. With that requires some additional training and mental toughness. I always am the one to give the "last burst" and I try to bring along others to doing so as well. Athletically, I would like nothing more than to be the leader, and starting Libero at the collegiate level to therefore help my team achieve the fullest potential. I also like to stand out other ways within the volleyball community. With the help of my coach and USA referee I began a "Dig Deep for Haiti" campaign. The initiative started with a shoe and jersey drive to benefit the players in Haiti that make concrete courts their playing ground. Within the first week, we collected over 50 pairs of shoes because of the promotion of the drive. It's not only important for me to make a mark and stand out through skill, but leadership and community service within the volleyball community. For that, I am a role model and example to other athletes; I hope to continue to do this throughout college. I am looking for a school to challenge me both academically and athletically. I continue to work and strive. If selected, I will make a meaningful mark at your school.
