Andrea Pena '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Andrea, and I would love to tell you a little about myself. I am a sophomore at Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, HI. My family moved from Texas about two years ago to Hawaii. It was a change that taught me to be determined, persistent, and adjust to new situations.

I have a positive outlook and learn from every situation. I am easily motivated and accept all kinds of feedback, positive or negative. I am someone who works hard to accomplish my goals while looking for new opportunities to improve in all areas of my life. I love to stay active and physically fit. I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures and religions. I believe I am a well-rounded person with many interests, including photography, drawing, marine life, and sports. I have played club volleyball for a couple of years and JV high school soccer.

I have played a variety of sports since I was young. However, volleyball is my passion because of the feeling I get every time I step on the court. It is hard to describe exactly how I feel in words. Yet, I can’t imagine my life without somehow playing the sport. During COVID, volleyball was the only thing I missed.

My current goal is to maintain a high GPA for college and continue to improve in volleyball. This year I learned that balancing school, personal life, and sports take effort and time management. However, anything is possible once we have a plan and determination. My long-term goal is to play college volleyball because it would allow me to be part of a hard-working team and represent my college positively while achieving my academic goal.

I look forward to my college experience.
