Personal Statement
2016, I am in my Sr year and Captain of our 18U Travle Club Team Twin Falls Elite. 2015, I was just inducted into National Honor Society. On May 5, 2015. I was also nominated and elected as Sr Secretary. Ever since I discovered the lovely sport of volleyball, I have had a great passion for it. No matter what team I play with, what coach I have, or how long I am with them, I always work my hardest to ensure that I grow in some way. When I first began, I had very little talent, but one day my coach quoted Tim Notke when he said "Hard work will beat talent, every time, talent does not work hard". This quote has stuck with me for many years and and I hope that despite my lack of "talent", my hard work will lead me to success. Keeping that quote in mind, all the obstacles my coaches have thrown at me were made much easier.
Every coach I have had, has played me in a different position, which was simple to adapt to with an open mind,. And has had a very positively effected on my volleyball career. Although I have grown each year, I still wouldn't consider myself the star player, since volleyball is a team sport and there isn't ever a true star of the team; everyone has to work together to better the game, and while I do try to help to make the plays run smoother, I cannot rightfully take credit for everything that takes place on the court. I would love to continue playing volleyball throughout college, not only because it is a great way to stay healthy, but also because it makes me push myself to be the best that I can be.
