Personal Statement
My goal is to play volleyball at the next level for a competitive program that supports their player academics. I am a leader in the classroom and on the court. While excelling in the classroom, I also have been selected as a web leader for incoming students to our school, I've been selected as team captain in athletics and received the KSHSAA Citizenship Award. Most recently, I was recognized as part of Prep Volleyball’s top 150 for the class of 2024. I’m always striving to do better. Whether I am playing sports or performing in a band concert, my friends and family have always encouraged me to stay positive and always give 100%.
I started playing recreational volleyball when I was nine years old. At ten, I was encouraged, by my coach, to tryout for a club volleyball team. I struggled my first year and didn't get to play much, so I knew that I was going to have to put in the work on my own time to get better; I did. From that point on, I've been focused on putting in the extra work to get better and be better for my team. Last year, my club team went to Nationals and placed 2nd in the National Division for 12U. I knew through that experience, that I wanted to play at a high level and beyond high school.
Like sports, I know that I have to push myself academically to be successful, so I put in the extra time and effort, and by doing so it has been reflected in my grades and class placement. I want to be my best self as a student and athlete, and I know that through my family, coaches and teachers I can accomplish that.
