My name is Aliyah Makayla Frazier. My preferred name is Makayla. I attend McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, Maryland. I am a student athlete and would love to play volleyball at the collegiate level as a middle blocker/hitter. I am 6 feet. My standing reach is 7ft11in, approach jump 9ft9in and block jump 9ft6in. I am a starter on my high school varsity team and starter on my club team, Baltimore Elite Volleyball Club. I was awarded the IAAM All Conference Team in the A conference volleyball 2021 and All Conference Team for the York Strong Finish Tournament 2022.
I am coachable and driven to work as hard as it takes to be the best middle blocker/hitter on the court. I am physically and mentally committed to the game. I am goal directed, disciplined, and an optimistic team player. My work ethic is demonstrated by my commitment to my development as a high performing athlete before, during and after practice. I wake up at 6am to go to weight training before school 3 days a week, and I train with a volleyball trainer 2 days a week.
I am an honor roll student and on the Dean’s list. My GPA unofficially is 4.3 in honors and AP classes. I am an artist and poet, and leader of several clubs related to mental and physical health awareness. I am a peer educator at my high school that teaches middle school students life skills, healthy decisions and ethical choices based on our school character compass. I have diverse academic interests that include Social Justice, English, and Education.
If given the opportunity to play on your roster, I am confident that I can make a significant contribution to the team's endeavors.
