I would love the opportunity to play volleyball at the collegiate level while also pursuing my academic goals. School is very important to me and I currently have all A's. I have been a three sport varsity athlete since my freshman year which means I am always playing sports, but I have learned how to balance my time between school and sports. I have taken advanced classes throughout my high school career and am currently taking 2 advanced placement classes this year. I am not quite sure what I want to do yet, but I think I want to major in something related to business because I am good with numbers and I enjoy problem solving. I am also a part of our school's National Honor Society.
I first started playing volleyball in 6th grade, and instantly fell in love with the sport. I have played six years of club so far and played on my middle school team both years. I am nearing the end of my third high school volleyball season, where I have been the setter in varsity since my freshman year. My freshman year was actually my first season playing setter, I was a middle hitter for both my middle school team and my club team. I worked all summer long before my freshman year with my coach on improving my setting and made a lot of progress in such little time. I would say that my biggest strength is my speed and work ethic.
I have had to learn a lot being the only setter, and at one point the youngest player on the team. Making varsity as a freshman was a great experience as I was able to learn a lot from the upperclassmen, such as the value of hard work and team unity. I take pride in my work ethic, and am always striving to become a better player. I put in work during the off season as well, I go to every extra volleyball workout I can, and motivate others to do the same. I also play basketball in the winter and run track and the spring, where my relay team broke the 800 meter relay record my freshman with me as the anchor, and I broke two school records at the state track meet in 2023. I would love to play volleyball in college, and I am willing to put in the work during the season and during the off season to do so.
