Personal Statement
My name is Hannah Carter and I am a sixteen year old 5’7” setter from Goldsboro, NC. I am in my junior year at Charles B. Aycock High school and would like to be considered as a setter position. I consider myself to be an all-around volleyball player because I am a setter who successfully attacks when necessary and I am well equipped for defense. 2 Corinthians 12:9 rephrased says “every weakness you have is an opportunity for God to show his strength in your life”. This scripture describes me, because there are no limits to what I can do with God; I am always strengthened because of him and there is NO quit in me!
I started out my volleyball career as an outside hitter and when I transitioned to high school they needed a setter and I transitioned into that position to meet the needs of the team. I am a versatile athlete that can provide strength where my team needs it the most. As a freshman I was named as the most valuable player for the junior varsity team and I transitioned to varsity as a sophomore. I currently play for Carolina Shockwave 18U travel volleyball team as the setter and we had a very successful season! I am including some of my videos and I would love it if you would take a minute to look at them. I averaged more than 100 assist per weekend and 8 aces consistently! I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!
In addition to my athletic abilities, I am in AP/honors classes and involved in Math Club, I volunteer at Wayne pregnancy center and I am very active in my church as I sing on the praise and worship team. My strong Christian values and family ties keep me grounded and provide me with mental toughness to defeat any giant in life on or off the court.
