Personal Statement

I have been playing volleyball competitively for nearly 7 years. Beyond the skill I have demonstrated on the court, I have learned that I have specific qualities that are central to who I am as a student, an athlete, and as a teammate. These qualities can be summed up in three simple words: effort, attitude, and influence.

Effort: I pride myself on always putting forth maximum effort. Any program I commit to will gain a hardworking individual who will never give up academically or athletically. My effort is always present both on and off the court. An example of this is lifting every morning the summer before my sophomore year at 5:30 am before heading to my full-time nannying job. This work ethic led to a starting varsity position as a sophomore and becoming defensive player of the year both my sophomore and junior seasons. While dedicating myself to athletics, I have also put in the effort to maintain an excellent GPA and am proud to be a member of the National Honor Society.

Attitude: Whether I’m committing to a program that’s on a role or rebuilding its chemistry, I will always maintain a positive attitude to create the best environment for my future coaches and teammates. I am very proud of my ability to maintain a positive attitude through adversity. From a team standpoint, the past couple of seasons of high school volleyball have not been as successful as I would have hoped, however, I am very excited to put in the work for a successful senior season and realize my potential to play at the next level.

Influence: Throughout my years playing volleyball, I have always pushed my teammates to work hard alongside me and build the strongest program possible, both on and off the court. I never miss an opportunity to play volleyball, even if it is just going to an open gym, and I have always encouraged my current teammates or younger upcoming players to put in the time to better themselves along with me.

I am very excited to bring these qualities to college program that is a great fit for me athletically and allows me to achieve my primary academic goal of getting an excellent education while working towards acceptance to dental school.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
