Jaycie Varner '16 Recruiting Profile

When you first see my height (5'5), it is very off-putting. I assure you, I work and play just as hard as everyone else, and I have a jump touch the same as a player who is 6 feet tall. Volleyball has become one of my passions, and I intend to play for as long as I can and to my utmost ability. My years of experience playing at a higher level than most has made me a very competitive and hard working player, making me a great candidate in tough pressure situations. I have been a varsity player for 3 years now and the importance of being a leader, not only vocally but also by actions, has been my challenge since my sophomore year; I am not one to back down from a challenge. I believe I have risen to the challenge, and have even surpassed it. I am a leader on the court as well as off the court, I believe I have set a very good example of what a leader should do in both tough pressure and in easy go-lucky situations.
