My name is Lauren Schulte, and I started playing volleyball in 6th grade during my last year at Frankfurt International School in Germany. The three years I spent in Germany gave me a different perspective on life, school, friends, and sports.
I came to appreciate the team spirit and support one needs to give each other in a team sports like volleyball, and discovered that my optimistic spirit shines even in difficult situations.
I have found my favorite position as outside hitter and have been working on my jumping and hitting skills during my last two seasons on the McCord Jr High School team.
I am very excited that I made the top 14 Elite team at Glasscity Volleyball in Holland, Ohio. This will be my second year on a travel volleyball team. My optimistic “we can win” attitude has helped the team maintain the spirit even when we are behind.
This same spirit has been driving me at school and allowed me to do well in the classroom as well as on the court. In selecting my high school courses for my freshman year I have put an emphasis on my interest in business, economics, and marketing, which all involve a high level of energy and outgoing personality.
Volleyball is a team sport that allows me to grow my strengths while using my athletic and personal abilities to excel and impact the team.
