Personal Statement
I started volleyball when I was in seventh grade I have dedicated most of my life and time to it ever since. I began as a setter, I was a setter for three years until my 2012-2013 year of club when I became a hitter. I play for Yorktowne 16 Open Blue team as an opposite hitter/blocker. I am a starting outside hitter playing both front row and back row for my high school team.
I mostly enjoy playing outside over opposite, but hitting is hitting and I enjoy doing either one, depending on where I'm needed on the team. I will do anything needed to help the team win, regardless of the position. Playing volleyball is a passion and it doesn't change based on the position I play.
I am also interested in playing beach volleyball. Over the summer I was involved in grass, one beach doubles and quads tournaments. I was involved in a summer camp called BYOV (Beach York Outdoor Volleyball). The camp ran all day for four days a week; I played for five weeks and enjoyed all of the work, conditioning and the opportunity to keep my hands on the ball through the summer. If I have the chance to play at a college that offered me a chance to play both indoor and outdoor that would be my top choice.
I have dedicated the last four years to being the best student and volleyball player I can be, I will continue to work make myself a better student, and a stronger athlete.
