Hello my name is Emma McConniel, I am currently a junior at Marion High School in SD. I am currently looking for a college to attend. As I would like to study either radiology or dentistry. Among my studies I am determined to continue my volleyball career. I have been playing volleyball for seven years of my life. Outside of school volleyball I have also been apart of many different club teams including;Sanford pentagon, C pac and my current team Yankton area volleyball. My current and most preferred position on the court is a libero. What sets me apart from the other recruits is the fact that I will always put 110% effort in, and that doesn’t just mean for sports that also includes school. I am an A average student and have learned how to differentiate between athletics and studies. With this skill I have earned my spot to be apart of the National Honors Society.
Outside of school and sports I also do volunteering. I have been a member of the volunteer Marion Fire Department since November of 2022. Being part of the fire department has taught me many things including working as a team. I know that volleyball is a team sport. It takes more than one person to win and succeed on the volleyball court. Along with team work I have also learned hard work pays off. Pushing yourself and others to succeed in things makes you a better athlete and over all a better person.
I am also currently working at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion as a CNA. Working as a CNA has a taught me to communicate in a positive manner and to have patience with others. I believe treating people correctly on and off the court is a very important thing that some people struggle with.
