Personal Statement
My name is Brooke Berens and I am a 6'1" middle blocker/outside hitter from Parker, South Dakota. I am hard-working,easy to get along with, and committed to the game of volleyball. I knew from the moment I first watched my older sister's first volleyball game that I would love this sport. My 8th grade year I decided to try out for the Pentagon Volleyball Club in Sioux Falls, SD. I made the top national teams for 14U, 15U, 16U and am currently on the 17U team. I fell in love with the high level of competition and the intense, yet fun, atmosphere.
As a freshman, I was the backup middle/outside hitter on the Parker High varsity squad and a starting JV middle blocker. We finished 5th in the South Dakota State Volleyball Tournament. As a sophomore, I was a starting middle blocker on the varsity team. Throughout the season, I had 226 kills and 73 total blocks. I was apart of the 2019-2020 Big East Conference 1st team and the Offensive MVP. I was also an Adrenaline Volleyball Rising Star and 2019-2020 Adrenaline Future 50 recipient.
In my junior year, I was starting middle blocker again on the varsity team. I tallied 277 kills, 82 total blocks, and 41 aces. Some accomplishments from this season include 2020-2021 Adrenaline Future 50 recipient, 2020-2021 Big East Conference 1st team, Offensive MVP, and 2020 2nd team All-State. We also finished 3rd at the 2020 State A volleyball tournament.
After graduating from Parker High School in 2022 I would like to attend college to achieve a major in Nursing.
Along with my high school and club seasons, I attend many volleyball camps and lessons to improve my skills. I have had the opportunity to play in two AAU National Volleyball Tournaments and will be participating again in June 2021. I am committed and dedicated to the sport of volleyball and would love to play at the collegiate level.
