My name is Kataliah (Kat) de los Santos from San Antonio, Texas. Volleyball has been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. My will to compete at the next level is the source of my relentless, driven attitude and enthusiasm for the game. I started playing the game at a young age and consistently pursued ways to improve my skills each session. I participated in various volleyball clubs, training sessions and athletic programs to help develop my abilities. My primary position is an OH/DS but I consider myself to be a utility player. I can play any position on the court and I believe this will help contribute to my college program and help support the success of those around me. My upbringing in the catholic schools has helped me develop values, discipline, and perseverance on and off the court. My true competitiveness has continued throughout my years in middle and high school, competing with teams and athletes much older than me. Growing up as the youngest child of three and the only daughter of a Marine, planted the foundation of maturity, dedication, trust, dependability, and commitment to be a leader. The drive to compete at 100% in any sport such as sand volleyball, basketball, softball, or track have given me the ability to learn not only from my competitors and teammates but from the game itself. These qualities taught me how to become a leader with my classmates, teammates, and my community. I could have never built such a strong volleyball foundation without the guidance and support of all my coaches, trainers, and family. My coaches, teammates and competitors have told me that my strongest asset is my commitment to the game and work ethic. A work ethic that continues in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA and an ambition to attend a university that combines both a competitive volleyball program and a strong nursing degree, and eventually prelaw.
My goal is to bring my passionate energy to your program and be a good fit both academically and athletically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, but the character, hard work-ethic, and leadership skills to make a positive impact on your program.
