Kamryn Carter '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello!  My name is Kamryn Carter and I am a 5'9"1/2 athletic right handed hitter and quick setter, who is ABSOLUTELY COMMITTED to playing volleyball and earning a college degree. My goal is to play collegiate volleyball that will allow me the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and grow in all facets of collegiate life: personally, athletically, and academically.
My love for the game is evident in everything I do.  I was recognized in middle school by the Illinois Lutheran Sports Association (LSA) as the 2012 Illinois "Most Valuable Player",  2012 LSA Illinois State Champions and an All Tournament State Team Member.  
As a freshman, I started Varsity as setter / OPP for Rossview High School in Clarksville, TN.   Our team finished 27-4 on the season, losing in the Sectionals to the defending Class AAA State Champions (Ravenwood).  I received 1st Team All Conference and All County Awards.  
In my Sophomore year, I was a Varsity starter and outside hitter for Brentwood High School in Brentwood, TN.  We ended the season as Class AAA State Champions with a record of 61-1, winning 60 straight matches including a tough 5 set championship match. Brentwood Bruins Volleyball Team was recognized by Max Preps with a #11 National ranking. I received 1st Team All District and All Regional Team Awards. 
Currently, In my Junior year, I am a Varsity stater and outside hitter and a 6 rotation player working hard towards a repeat of last year's championship results. 
I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old.  I played 3 years of Club Volleyball for Eastside Volleyball Club (Peoria, IL) -14 Red Travel, 1 year with Club West Volleyball (Nashville, TN) 15-1 National.  I will be going into my third year with Alliance Volleyball Club (Franklin,TN) - 15-1 Mizuno (Captain), Captain of the 16-1 Mizuno team and the only 6 rotation player.
I have always played up at a higher level with older competition, so I am used to putting in the hard work necessary to develop my skills and abilities.  I believe my play will continue to develop as I am training daily to build my core and GROW as a leader on and off the court.
