Personal Statement

My name is Macey McCoy. I am a setter/opposite which has been my primary role on all of my teams since starting club at age 10. I have strong leadership and communication skills. I stay calm in any circumstance and I am a smart setter. I quickly and effectively evaluate the opposing team's strongest hitters, passers and their defensive flaws, then run the best play in order to expose those flaws. In the state of Washington, I am currently the #7 setter recruit for my class, and #26 overall. As an opposite, I use my intelligence as a setter to assist with the placement of my attacks. Although only 5'8", my jump reach helps me put up a solid block on the right side.

I attend Columbia River High School, and play on the varsity volleyball team, the 2021, 2022, and 2023 2A State Volleyball Champions. This year, I was awarded first team all league, all region, and all state as well. I am currently enrolled in International Baccalaureate(IB) classes, maintaining a 3.89 GPA. I am a student athlete who maintains a healthy balance between academics, volleyball, family, and my social life. I am a very coachable player who is friendly, has integrity, is determined, and is a hard worker. I believe in the team concept and am well-liked by my teammates. My roles have included captain, voted by my teammates as "Best Energy", "Best Laugh", and "Best Teammate". I would like to play at any collegiate level but would prefer D1 or D2. My career goal is to be a pediatrician, so a university that has a strong pre-medical program would be the best fit for me.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
