Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a college that is strong academically and athletically that will challenge me to be the best version of myself. I am not yet sure what I would like to pursue as a career after college, but I enjoy math and science and will most likely decide to go into a field of study that consists of those two subjects. Volleyball is a sport that really emphasizes the need for a strong team dynamic. This need for working together is one reason that I love the game and am very passionate about it. Each member of the teams I have been on has a played an important role, whether that be on the court or cheering the team on from the bench. Being a starter on my high school team has taught me leadership at a young age because even though I am still young on the team, there has to be leadership from everyone on the court. This high school season was my first year ever playing libero. I originally tried out as an outside hitter, but because of injuries and my defensive ability, I was put into the libero position. As the year went on I was able to keep this position and that role gave me the opportunity and allowed me to take charge of the back row as only a sophmore. I am on the Honor Roll at my high school, am part of a club and a student recruiter. The club team I play for won the 14 Premiere AAU Nationals in Orlando in 2014 and I was named Most Valuable Player of the AAU All-American team. My high school team won the 2015 Wisconsin Division I State Championship, and I was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. I cannot remember a time that I didn't want to play college volleyball at a competitive level and I have been working towards that goal and will continue to work towards it until I make it come true.
