Personal Statement
The experiences that I have had on and off the volleyball court have made me who I am today. While in the 8th grade I suffered an injury (chipped femur bone) that caused me to miss the entire season. This experience created a hunger and passion to compete inside of me that has never subsided. Fortunately, a summer coach (Allen Capps) had a spot for me on his club team, which allowed me to get back on track with my training and I am forever grateful for that. I started training in January and worked as hard as I possibly could to make up for lost time. As a Freshman, I was the only one in my age group to make the junior varsity team. I am a pin hitter and enjoy hitting from all areas on the net. I continue to become a more consistent play terminator as I become faster, stronger and smarter. On the varsity team last year I lead the team with 51 kills and the highest service ace percentage. I am looking for a college opportunity where I can continue to prepare for my future professionally, while also playing the sport that love, and that has taught me so much.
