My name is Riley O'Connell and I am a 5'10 junior Setter from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. I am a very disciplined student-athlete who works hard to accomplish my goals. I am looking for a University in which I will get a great education even though I am currently undecided on a major. I am also looking for a competitive-successful collegiate volleyball program where I can be an impact player.
I attend Cedarburg High School and will graduate in 2018. I have been on the High Honor Roll annually, take challenging courses in order to prepare myself for college, and I work hard to maintain above a 4.0 GPA.
I've been playing volleyball since I was 10 years old and have held the captain position on several teams that I have played on. I always give 110% effort in practices and games by hustling and diving for every ball to keep the play alive. I have a positive mental attitude, always motivate and encourage my teammates, play smart, and I am extremely coachable. I would love to be able to continue my volleyball career in college.
I have been the starting setter on my high schools varsity volleyball team my freshman, sophomore, and junior season. My junior season I was named 1st Team Setter All-Confernece, Honorable Mention All-State, and I also received the bulldog award that was voted on by my teammates for having the best leadership, attitude, and team spirit. This high school season I was also one of the captains and set a 5-1 offense.
This club season I am playing at Motion Volleyball Program on their 17-Blue team. My team and I will be competing at these events:
-Great Lakes Power League at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, IL January 7-8, January 28-29, February 4-5, and March 18-19
-Mizuno SPVB President's Day Challenge at either the Great Lakes Center, Schaumburg Convention Center, or Rosemont Sports Dome in Aurora, IL February 18-20
-JVA World Challenge in Louisville Kentucky April 7-9
-Badger State AAU Super Regionals at the Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Center in Menomonee Falls, WI May 6-7
-Mizuno GLC Pre-Nationals at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, IL June 10-11
-AAU Nationals at either the ESPN Wide World of Sports or Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL June 19-22
I would appreciate it if you are planning on being at one of these tournaments if you would take some time to watch me play. Thank you!
