My name is Ariel Manning. I like wrestling because it just makes sense. As complicated as it may be, it exemplifies life to me. Life is a daily test, just like wrestling, you get out of it what you put into it. Personally, I like challenges and discomfort. I thrive in the thick of it. When things get tough and people start to fall off, that is when I make progress and grow. This is because I am not motivated, I am driven...to be the best, not to impress others, but to impress myself. My only fear at the end of the day is that I did not give my everything.
I may be relatively new to high school wrestling, but I have trained for years in sports that require both physical and mental toughness. I have experience competing in high level submission grappling competitions, as well as training with college wrestlers and professional muay thai boxers in thai style kickboxing.
I take being a student seriously as well. I understand the importance of the classes that I am in. I am not there just because I have to be; I am there because I want to learn and excel in everything. These classes are preparing me for my future, the future that I am determined to make happen.
