Personal Statement

I am a Senior at Saint Louis School which is Hawaii’s only all-boys private school.  I have been a part of their wrestling program since I was in the 6th grade. I have developed a great passion for the sport of wrestling throughout the years and I love it.  Wrestling has really taught me a lot about myself, and what I need to do physically and mentally to succeed in this sport and my academics.  I have learned valuable lessons in nutrition, conditioning, and overall health through my experiences in wrestling.   I am an extremely hard worker; self-motivated learner and I never give up. I believe that in order to get good results, you need to work hard and be consistent.

I am a year-round wrestler and I compete in Freestyle and Greco in the off season.  I train with my club 6 days a week in a combination of wrestling and weight training. I have had the privilege to travel and compete on the mainland for the past three summers and it has given me great experience and a drive to want to get better each time whether I win or lose.  I have also had the opportunity to learn from different coaches throughout the U.S. by attending clinics and competing in other states and it has helped me to become a better wrestler.

When I’m not wrestling, I enjoy playing music on my guitar or teaching myself to play the piano.  I also enjoy cooking, hanging out with my friends and doing cultural things and community service with my school and family.

I believe I have what it takes to become a successful student- athlete on the next level. I am open and willing to learn more to advance my skills to contribute to my team and win a National Championship title during my collegiate years.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
