Wrestling is a relatively new sport to me. I started in sixth grade and ended up with only two matches due to COVID. Despite the short season, something about the sport intrigued me. I enjoy that wrestling is both a team and individual sport. I understand that getting better requires hard work and have enjoyed success due to pushing myself to practice harder each day. I enjoy being a part of a team and within the wrestling community as a whole, making long-term friendships after wrestling against and with my peers in practice and many tournaments. Wrestling has taught me to budget my time and to maintain my work ethic in school as well. I have a 4.0 GPA and plan to maintain that score in high school and through college. I enjoy studying the sport and teaching and learning with others. These traits, along with aspiring to be the best wrestler I can possibly be, I believe, make me a good candidate for a collegiate program.
