Hi my name is Rhys Whiteford I'm a 6’1 C/OF from Duncan BC, Canada. I am the starting catcher for the PBL JR Nanaimo Pirates. I will try to do what ever it takes to play at the collegiate level. Currently my GPA is a 3.7 and I would love to study Kinesiology and become an Athletic Therapist.
I am having a very successful start to my freshman season as the starting catcher. I am unique in my league, as I call my own game. And I am grateful that my coaches trust me enough to do that.
I have done travel baseball in the off season with Batters Box Canada based out of Victoria BC, coached by Brad Weinmeyer. And also with Big League Experience coached by Marty Lehn.
To stay as a well round athlete, I also play Rugby as the team captain and the scrum half on my school Rugby team. I play school basketball as well. I work as a referee for the local hockey association and I volunteer with a local baseball academy helping young ones learn the game of baseball.
I will update with more info as my season progresses.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me.
