My name is Casey Parsons, yes, as in "Casey at the Bat." I have my parents to thank for that! I do come from a line of ball players. My grandpa and dad both played at Denison University. And, as the story goes, I asked to play baseball daily from the age of four, until my parents found a tee-ball league for me, one year later. I guess the love for this game just runs in the family.
I'm a junior at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, and play for the Varsity Pioneer Baseball program as a RHP and INF. In our off season, I play for Chad Moeller's Dinger Club Team.
As I look towards the future, several Division 1 and Division 3 schools stand out in terms of location, culture, academics and athletics. I am an honors student, a member of the National Honors Society, and carry a weighted 4.1 GPA, so my studies are very important to me.
My goal is to play ball and get a good education in a field I'm passionate about. I pride myself in having a strong work ethic, on and off the field, and view life's curve balls as challenges.
Right now, digital sports media and a degree in business seems to interest me the most, but I can't wait to explore classes I've never thought about or even heard of. And most of all, to put on a college jersey and play for my university, would be a dream come true.
