Personal Statement

Since,  I was 3 years old I fell in love with baseball my father always had a baseball game on TV  or we be playing it and all I knew was baseball.  At age 5 I started to play on a Travel ball team. My goal is to play at the college level and help my team be the best. I'm a team player and leader, that something my Father has always taught me from a young age playing or not I  will  be a team player and leader.

I always no matter what the game out come is I'm always encouraging my teammates. I am a very coachable player never talk back to a coaches my father has taught me to respect the game of baseball and to listen to what every coach tells me and to always communicate with coaches and teammates.

In the classroom, I do my best to have a high GPA so I can be able to play the sport i love. I push myself in the class room as I do on the field. My goal is to continue the discipline at the college level. I have always push myself to be the hardest worker player on the diamond as I do in the class room.  I train 20 hours a week on top of my personal hitting and fielding lessons to be the best out there.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I want to play for a college where I have a opportunity to be a starter.  My father has also taught me to always help the younger kids so they can play baseball Like I do and that something I really enjoy to coach younger kids.

  • yden continues show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.19 with accuracy / carry (85 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, power potential is at a pro level through an open setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

  • 04/02/2023 - National Showcase - Visalia, CA Ayden Vasquez is a 2026 SS/C that is projectable at both positions. He showed improvements at both catcher and shortstop, lowering his pop time to an impressive 1.89. At SS, he shows good footwork and consistent hands while making strong and accurate throws. He works through the baseball and makes the right read on in between hops. Ayden also increased his arm velo to 81 which is a good jump from the last time we saw him. Along with his pop time, his receiving and blocking also improved. Getting stronger will help him work through the baseball while receiving a little more. He has plenty of time to continue on the great path of development and improvement that he is currently on. One thing that will be important to work on to stay at the SS position is speed. Lowering his 60 time to a 7.82 is a good sign for that trending in the right direction. On the hitting side of things, Ayden shows good bat speed and consistent barrel delivery. Creating a little more forward direction with his hands after contact will be something that can help him be even more consistent with creating backspin and having good ball flight moving forward. Ayden is a player we are really excited about heading into his sophomore year. With time to develop in the weight room and on the field Ayden is someone that projects very well at the college level.
